Kanya Fujimoto moved on from Blues as there was little chance of him playing a significant part this season.
The attacker has joined Tokyo Verdy on loan until the campaign's end.
Blues have no plans to replace his spot in the 25-man squad with a free agent.
But they could look at registering Scott Wright in his place. Wright was left out of the group Blues were required to lodge with the EFL after the domestic transfer window closed.
