Well, Blues are on the fringe of the play-off positions.

The 'new' play-off positions that is. Southampton occupy that eighth place ahead of them due to goal difference.

Defeat of Derby County was Blues second win of the season and a mighty fine result, given some of the narrative swirling around pre-match.

It took Blues to 10 points, which is the same mark as at this stage last season. Back, then, though, Blues were 11th and had suffered as many defeats as wins, three.
