There have been some entertaining derbies against Wolverhampton Wanderers down the years and this one was a sizzler.
Blues and Wolves have not met at this level since 2018 and the visitors came to St. Andrew's rated by most rational observers as likely candidate for automatic promotion.
They still have a glazing of Premier League quality and Blues took the billing of the underdog hoping to ruffle and upset.
That was pretty much the way of things when the sides clashed spikily in the days of McGhee and Muscat, and later on during the bankrolling of Mendes' Molineux enclave.
