Mike Rigg has stepped down as Birmingham City Academy technical director.
But in an unusual twist, Rigg will be staying on at the club in a consultancy role 'for several more weeks as he supports the first team operations in the opening weeks of the season'.

He was a high profile appointment to help drive the club's ambitious plans for their Academy, including the upgrade in status to Category One.
