The Blues manager has provided a fascinating insight into his thought process - and the science - behind making unforced changes to his side.
In a nutshell, Davies doesn't do wholesale alterations. He would rather stick with a core group of players, unless injuries and physical condition dictate, and is reluctant to replace with those of a lesser capability too.
That has been evident this season as the Blues side has a very settled feel about it.
