Having a Blues squad with the right characters in it and a settled core means plenty to Chris Davies.

Blues were not as prolific in the transfer window as in previous years - albeit seven players came in, three were moved on and other not re-engaged - but they didn't need to be.

Reflecting, having taken a few more days stock since the window closed, Davies remains sanguine.

"Look, I think we all want to sign the best players we can," he told Forever Blues. "The bar has been raised in the Championship.
