Birmingham City under-21s got their campaign up and running on Friday night, at Swansea City in the Premier League Cup group stage.

Unfortunately, it was an auspicious beginning; Swans running out 3-0 victors.

The youngsters then travel to Boston United on Tuesday for a debut in the National League Cup, after the club entered the competition for the first time.

Blues opted-in to provide a different experience for their players against National League sides who, in theory, should be older and more wizened.
