Season ticket holders must attend 78 per cent of home games this season or risk losing their right to renew.
Blues are writing to their 20,000 season ticket holders outlining new plans ahead of Saturday's first St. Andrew's game of the campaign, against Bristol City.
In essence, the club are trying to ensure the ground is full and those on the season ticket waiting list, as well as casual supporters, get the chance to watch Chris Davies' side.
They are being proactive in explaining what they describe as a 'soft trial' to avoid misunderstandings and halt potential scaremongering.
