There was a time when Blues used to scrap it out for the ascendancy with Brentford.
Back in the old Third Division days, in 1992, Terry Cooper's Blues gifted them the title by a point after losing the last two matches after securing promotion, Dean Holdsworth firing the Bees over the line.
That came a year after beating the Brentford of the Jamie Bates, Keith Millen and Terry Evans vintage in the Southern Area Final to reach Wembley and then lift the Leyland DAF Cup.
In 1994/95, Blues claimed the Second Division (third tier) crown courtesy of a final day win at Huddersfield Town that nudged Brentford into runners-up spot.
